Carrie and I have been married for 22 years. Carrie is the district librarian at Jones Public Schools.

We have two boys. Justus, the oldest, is a middle school teacher and school psychometrist. Max, the youngest, is in 6th grade, and he's an excellent reader. He also loves playing soccer and tennis.

I coach Max's U12 soccer team. I started out as a temporary volunteer. It has now morphed into 6 years of fun. I love coaching those crazy boys. It's been so much fun. I got certified as a youth soccer coach from the U.S. Soccer Association.

In between soccer practice and games, I enjoy oil painting and photography. When I'm painting, there's nothing but the present. You're simply lost in the moment. When you're done with a painting, there's a real sense of accomplishment.
